Overview

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and forward thinking Head of Learning to lead, support and hold accountable a team of tutors focusing on maximising student achievement and developing high standards in students’ social and personal development.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach within their subject and provide strategic leadership of teaching, learning, and pastoral development as their year group progresses throughout the school. They will have oversight of personal development curriculum planning, delivery, and student progress across the full age and ability range, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality learning experience from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 4.

Working closely with subject leaders and pastoral teams, the Head of Learning will drive high standards of attainment, behaviour, and engagement, and play a key role in shaping an inclusive and aspirational school culture.

The Willink is a successful and oversubscribed school. As the preferred state school in the area, we attract learners from beyond our catchment, including Hampshire, Reading and Wokingham. The school has over 1200 students, including a thriving Sixth Form of 200 students, and is situated in a pleasant semi‑rural setting south‑west of Reading.

  • MPR/UPR plus Management Allowance
  • Full-time, required from September 2026
