The Willink is a successful and oversubscribed school with a strong international ethos, listed in the top ten non-selective schools in Berkshire in 2019. The school has 1250 students on roll including 220 in the Sixth Form, and is situated in a pleasant semi-rural setting south west of Reading.

We have experience and expertise in Initial Teacher Training and professional development and are a strategic partner to the Teaching School Hub Berkshire. The Willink is the lead school for the Mobius Maths Hub – a national centre for excellence in the teaching and leadership of mathematics education.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, motivated and inspirational teacher to join our enthusiastic, ambitious, dynamic and very supportive English Faculty. The successful applicant will have the skills to motivate and engage staff and students, and to enrich the lives and learning experiences of our young people. The faculty teaches English Language and English Literature to A Level and opportunities to teach media are available. Cover Supervisor

  • 30 hours per week, term time only, plus 5 training days
  • Salary scale E: full time salary £24,294 - £26,421

We require a Cover Supervisor to oversee classes of students aged 11-16 for which work has been set during the absence of the class teacher. The role will involve ensuring that the class is well managed and students work productively - also providing in class support when no cover is required.  Other duties may include small group intervention. This role is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to gain further experience in a school environment as part of their career development and will offer invaluable experience to anyone wishing to pursue a career in teaching.

Exam Invigilators

  • West Berkshire Grade - £12.03 per hour inclusive of holiday pay
  • Casual contract

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and reliable people to support the examination process.  No experience is needed as full training will be given.  The main examination season is in May and June, which you will need to be available for.  However, there will be other examinations requiring invigilators at other times during the academic year. 

Hours and days will vary according to need but we are seeking those who can offer between two and seven hours per day, and are available from 8.30am and or up until approximately 3.30/4.00pm, up to 5 days per week.  This role is for a casual contract.  We aim to give everyone in the pool the opportunity to gain practical experience and to develop their skills and knowledge in the role.  There will be no guaranteed minimum hours of work due to the nature of the role.

Learning Support Assistants

We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our friendly team of LSAs. The ability to support literacy or modern foreign languages would be an advantage. We are looking for LSAs with flexibility, a keen interest or qualification in learning support and the desire to contribute to our school’s community.
