Year 9 GCSE Options (Entry 2025)

In September 2025, current Year 9 students will start on an important new stage in their school career as they enter Key Stage 4.  Although these students have already begun studying GCSE content in some subject areas (mathematics, science and RE), in Year 10 and 11 they will have the opportunity to study from a wide range of subjects to prepare themselves for further education, and for the world of work.

To learn more about core subjects and option subjects available to students, please review the Year 9 Options Booklet below:

Year 9 Options Booklet - GCSE Courses 2025 Entry

Year 9 Students are invited to an Options Evening on Wednesday 29 January 2025 (see this letter which was shared in Parent Digest). After the Options Evening there will be the Year 9 Consultation Evening on Thursday 6th and Tuesday 11th February 2025, which will be another opportunity for parents to query any option choices their child may wish to make.

Students will make their selections through Microsoft Forms and will be given detailed instructions on how to access the platform. The process will be open from Monday, 24 February, to Friday, 7 March 2025, and students are expected to complete their choices within this timeframe.
