Teacher of English / English Co-ordinator

We require a committed colleague with a real interest in the provision of quality and imaginative teaching to join an experienced, supportive and high achieving English Department. This post would suit a newly qualified teacher or more experienced colleague. A Management Allowance is available for a suitable candidate for a co-ordinating role of a key stage or leadership of the English enrichment curriculum.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach English language and literature throughout the school across the age and ability range to GCSE. There is the opportunity to teach either literature or language at A level.

EXAMINATIONS INVIGILATORS

We are now recruiting part-time Invigilators to help with the smooth running of Examinations which take place throughout the year. Skills and knowledge required include:

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to deal with confidential and sensitive matters 

Invigilators will be required to have an enhanced DBS check and attend mandatory Child Protection Training [this will be arranged by the Willink School]. 

Invigilation work is available on an ad hoc basis to cover the needs of the examinations at various times during the school year. Hours are 08.30am start for morning exams and 12.50pm for afternoon exams, which may run on after 3.00pm. 

Hourly rate: £8.81

Cleaning Operatives

2 hours/day 5 days a week
All year contract with 26 days paid holiday per annum
West Berks Salary Band B  FTE £13,715 -£15,207     Actual £3,707 - £4,110

The Willink School is bringing the cleaning operation “in house”. 
Our new Cleaning Manager is now recruiting a team of cleaning operatives to work an early evening shift from 3.30 – 5.30pm.
Cleaning operatives will be allocated a specific area of the school to clean and maintain at a high standard. Full training will be given.
Uniform and all materials will be provided.

Cleaning operatives will have a full year contract and as employees of West Berkshire Council will have access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Co-opted Governors

The governing body is currently advertising for three co-opted governors to join us. Co-opted governors are a recent development for all governing bodies and are different from the parent governor role because they can be recruited from parents or the wider community. This means there will be no election process involved in this recruitment campaign.

The Willink is a heavily oversubscribed and successful school. Student achievement is high with about 30% achieving A*/A at A Level and over 70% achieving 5+A*-C EM at GCSE. The school was judged to be good with outstanding features by Ofsted in 2014. The Willink is the lead school in the Two Counties Teaching Partnership. It has 1040 students on roll including 190 in the Sixth Form, and is situated in a pleasant semi-rural setting south west of Reading.
