In celebration of World Book Day, a fantastic baking competition took place in the library today, organised by Mrs Price. These amazing - and tasty - cakes were all inspired by books. Well done to all the students involved.

Peter Fry (Headteacher, The Willink School) said: Congratulations to all our students and teachers who have worked so hard to produce this year’s set of results. Overall results were as we predicted with almost all students gaining their first university choice. We are particularly delighted with the number of students gaining places at Oxford and Cambridge – the highest proportion in the school’s history.

Quotes from some students: We travelled from Beijing on the sleeper train. The rooms on the sleeper train are large enough to only just fit four people comfortably. There was a small table, two bunk beds as well as a small walk way. Even though the rooms were miniscule compared to the hotel they were surprisingly comfortable. The best part was the dumpling banquet and the Terracotta Army. The best bit of Xian was our few hours at a middle school which we made so many new friends and gave them our Instagram names I enjoyed going round the wall in Xian on the bikes which was 14 km round I enjoyed the Terracotta Army the most in Xi’an because I have always wanted to see them.
